Delicate Princess Cut Aquamarine and Diamond Ring from MyJewelrySource

Whether you are looking for a delicate and elegant aquamarine ring or one with a certain boldness and flair, MyJewelrySource offers some unique and appealing designs. Two of our favorite rings that are petite in nature are our princess cut aquamarine and princess cut diamond ring, GR-1081 (pictured right), and our oval cut aquamarine and oval diamond ring, GR-1059. These rings have beautiful filigree detail and milgrain edging which give them an heirloom quality. They are reminiscent of vintage and antique style aquamarine rings from a hundred years ago.

If you prefer more of a statement style ring, our cushion cut aquamarine wide band ring is a great choice. This ring features a fine quality genuine 8mm cushion cut aquamarine which we have custom cut for the ring. The band is adorned with fully faceted round white diamonds and milgrain edging has been added as an accent. Two larger diamonds are highlighted with bezels on each side. This aquamarine ring has a nice comfortable gram weight, and it is also finished beautifully with an undergallery so it will feel smooth on the finger. Not only is this a great signature ring, we think it would be amazing as an engagement ring as well. We are now offering a matching diamond wedding band to go with the ring.

Trillion Amethyst and Diamond Ring in 14k white gold

Custom Trillion Cut Amethyst and Diamond Halo Ring

The amethyst rings at MyJewelrySource are designed to be wearable and to last a lifetime. We also have many unique designs you won’t find anywhere else. Our rings are available in white or yellow gold and we also work in platinum and palladium. They are solid and not hollowed out and you will be able to feel the quality on your finger. One of our newest styles in our trillion shaped amethyst ring, GR-2146 (pictured on right). We found a gorgeous lot of trillion cut natural amethyst gemstones and wanted to create an elegant, eye-catching and comfortable ring that would be perfect for every day wear. The natural amethyst is 7mm in size and surrounded by 1/5 carat of fine quality diamonds. The contrast between the rich purple hue of the amethyst and the brilliance of the diamonds is what makes the ring so striking. We designed the ring to have a solid white gold shank to keep the design simple and very durable. And if you like stacking rings, the band has straight sides so this will stack beautifully with other diamond rings or eternity bands and white gold bands.

Dramatic Emerald Cut Amethyst and Diamond Ring

Another great wearable design in our sleek emerald cut amethyst and diamond ring, GR-2154 (pictured on left). Featuring a stunning 7x9mm emerald cut deep purple amethyst, this ring could become your signature piece. The amethyst is clean and clear and has a great cut. The uniformity of the color throughout is what you would expect for a fine quality gemstone. On either side is a trio of large full cut round diamonds which command attention and draw the eye to the amazing focal point. For this ring too, we purposely left the white gold shank unadorned and highly polished. The ring feels solid and durable on the finger and will be ideal for daily wear.

Oval Ceylon Blue Sapphire Solitaire Ring in 14k yellow gold

Fine quality oval Ceylon sapphire in a 14k yellow gold solitaire ring setting

The blue sapphire rings we offer come in a range of sapphire colors and shapes. Some of our favorites are the classic solitaire or past present future styles like  GR-5654 (pictured on right), GR-5656 and GR-5678. GR-5654 features a gorgeous intense cornflower blue Ceylon sapphire in a substantial yellow gold mounting. The warmth of the yellow gold complements the sapphire’s hue. Our GR-5678 has a lighter blue Ceylon sapphire in a cushion cut. This particular gem is very lively and is set with fine quality trillion diamonds in platinum.

If you’re looking for a more unique shape, we have a spectacular heart shape Ceylon sapphire in a vintage styled semi mount. Our GR-5218 also has a matching band for those looking for engagement ring. We also love our band style ring, BR-100. Featuring a large and hard to find 8.2mm cushion cut light blue sapphire, this impressive design is made to be worn and enjoyed daily. The setting has a low profile and the wider band (nearly 8mm) sits comfortably on the finger.

For those looking for a darker tone in sapphires, we have two elegant emerald cut designs, GR-5677 and GR-5761, and a dazzling round diamond halo setting, GR-5785. One emerald cut design is done with a vintage style setting with engraving and milgrain edging. The faceting of the sapphire is completed by the baguette diamonds that flank each side. The other is done with a trio of round diamonds on either side of the sapphire for a more traditional look. Sapphires look amazing by themselves but there’s something about a diamond halo design that brings it to another level. Our GR-5785 features a wonderful rich blue 7.8mm round sapphire framed by a ring of diamonds. The contrast between the fine quality diamonds and the intensity of the sapphire is quite striking.

Tip #13– Considering Gemstone Hardness:

Another characteristic of gemstones that should be considered when selecting the right one for a gemstone engagement ring is the hardness of the gem. The Moh’s scale is a hardness scale that characterizes the scratch resistance of a gemstone by the ability of that gemstone to scratch another gemstone. All gemstones are given a rating on a scale from 1 to 10. 10 is the hardest and only a diamond has a rating of 10. Believe it or not, the only thing that can scratch a diamond is another diamond.

Sapphires and rubies are the hardest gemstones with a Moh’s scale rating of 9 and so they do make excellent choices for an engagement ring, particularly if she has a very active lifestyle. The next hardest gemstones are blue topaz and aquamarine. Emeralds rate a 7.5 to 8 on the scale and are notably softer than their precious counterparts, ruby and sapphire. Some of the most popular gemstones are rated between a 6.5 and 7.5 on the Moh’s scale. These include amethyst, blue zircon, citrine, garnet, iolite, peridot, tanzanite and tourmaline. If you are concerned about the hardness (or lack thereof) of a gemstone that you would like in an engagement ring, there are a couple of things you can do to compensate for that hardness. Choosing rings with bezel or semi bezel set center stones is a great option for softer stones. The bezel helps to protect the stone from sudden impact and scratches. You can also look for a gemstone engagement ring with a lower profile. Rings that sit closer to the finger and rings that do not sit up high will also generally be a better choice for a softer gemstone.
