Tanzanite is a unique gem, found only in one location on Earth. And since it has such a gorgeous color, we are all so lucky it was first discovered some 40 years ago and then made its way to fine jewelry. MyJewelrySource has a special collection of fine quality tanzanite jewelry and we carefully source the most beautiful stones we can find. You probably are aware that tanzanite in jewelry has a wide range of hues, from pale lavender to dark purple. But it’s the medium to dark tones, strong saturations, and slightly purplish blue hues that are the most prized.

We have a delightful three stone design which features a 7x5mm oval tanzanite with a 10 point round diamond on each side, GR-7080 (shown above) and GR-7075 (shown left). In addition to the symbolism of the design, the ring has been given a vintage feel with the engraving that adorns three sides of the band. This is one ring we just had to offer in 14k white or 14k yellow gold because fine quality tanzanite is one of those gems that looks amazing in either color of gold.

If you’re looking for a really spectacular gem, our GR-7067 (shown right) features a stunning purplish blue 7mm cushion cut tanzanite with a medium tone and strong saturation. Tanzanites that show a more predominantly blue color are more rare and valuable since more gem weight is lost when a cutter orients the rough to bring out the blue hue. Therefore, gems are not usually cut this way and when you find one, you know you have a very special stone. The tanzanite in this ring has an exceptional cut and it is very lively. The setting features a split shank design adorned with rows of small, fully faceted round diamonds. The ring has a low profile so it will be quite comfortable for frequent wear. Notice too how we have used substantial V style prongs to not only hold the tanzanite securely but to also protect it from daily bumps and bruises.

The combination of the jewel tones of the tanzanite and pink sapphires is mesmerizing. To highlight it all, we’ve framed the gems with bright, sparkling round diamonds. One of the things we love most about sapphires is that they are found in a rainbow of colors. They are so much more than blue, pink or yellow. Sapphires are sometimes found in green, orange, and purple. And of course, red, known as ruby.  We think the perfect way to celebrate the gorgeous colors of sapphire is with a rainbow hued bracelet. The styles we offer are primarily tennis style bracelets due to their versatility and durability but we do also have bangles and link styles too. There are a lot of ways to put together a rainbow sapphire bracelet and often times, manufacturers will omit certain colors creating a mulitcolor sapphire bracelet but not a true rainbow sapphire bracelet. Or they sometimes pair lighter toned sapphires with darker toned sapphires resulting in an abrupt pattern, losing the elegant and inviting color flow of the rainbow. For these reasons, we do not purchase and resell finished rainbow sapphire bracelets. We make them in house so that we have complete control over the quality and layout of the gems. We pride ourselves in the care and meticulousness we use to select the sapphires for our rainbow sapphire bracelets. Our most favorite rainbow sapphire bracelet is our 11 carat Princess Cut Rainbow Sapphire Bracelet, GB-4071 (shown above), featuring 3mm sapphires. The sapphires are channel set in a heavy 14k yellow gold tennis bracelet style mounting. The bracelet has no prongs, only smooth sides and edges so it will be very comfortable for daily wear. The sapphires are a great size and show up beautifully and the yellow gold setting enhances their beauty. For our rainbow layout, we create two consecutive rainbow patterns so no matter how the bracelet sits on your wrist, you will be able to appreciate and enjoy all of the beautiful colors.

Our GB-4048 (shown on left) is an amazing bangle bracelet done in 14k white gold with burnished set rainbow sapphires. Here again we use a heavy gold setting so this bangle will easily hold up to a lifetime of frequent wear, not to mention the fact that a heavy gold setting just simply feels better on than a cheap light weight setting! This bangle features 3mm brilliant cut round sapphires in a zig zag layout. We’ve also applied a satin finish to the white gold to really make the sapphires stand out.

We have about twenty styles of rainbow sapphire bracelets featuring round, princess cut or radiant cut sapphires in a range of sizes. We love emeralds and are drawn to their inviting green hue but choosing one with the fine quality attributes that we want to offer our customers take time and patience!  Emeralds are available in an extremely wide range of qualities and some of the treatments many emeralds on the market receive today are even somewhat questionable (not accepted as a standard practice or even not permanent or durable).  Emeralds are commonly found with clarity characteristics and the practice of treating emeralds with oil or resin is a common and accepted method for improving an emerald’s appearance. Some emeralds are treated with a tinted oil which actually helps to color the emerald green. This practice is not accepted in the industry and MyJewelrySource does not sell any emeralds that have been color enhanced. The most desirable hues for emerald are bluish green to green. If an emerald is too yellowish, the value is diminished. We offer a range of fine quality emerald rings with gems that have been hand selected for their balance of color, clarity and size.

One of our favorites is our petite oval emerald ring, GR-5454 (shown on right), which features a 6x4mm emerald surrounded by a diamond halo with two rows of diamonds in the band. The emeralds we use in this design have a lighter tone with a green hue. They are transparent and not cloudy or hazy which you would find with lower quality emeralds.

One of our finest quality emerald rings, for those of you looking for a very special one of a kind design, is our GR-5213 (shown on left). This spectacular design showcases a 1.8 carat emerald cut emerald with an outstanding slightly bluish green hue, medium tone and saturation. This emerald just dazzles as the focal point in the heavy yellow gold ring set with one carat of fine quality, near color baguette diamonds.

MyJewelrySource has an exceptional collection of fine quality ruby rings. Most of our rubies are Burmese in origin and all have been verified to be lead glass free. Lead glass filling of rubies is quite prevalent now and we rigorously inspect the rubies we source to ensure that they are free from this treatment. With lead glass filling, a majority of the so-called ruby gemstone is actually glass, not ruby!

We have a wide range of styles from simple solitaire designs to symbolic past present future rings to vintage inspired beauties.

We love both the wearability and durability of our semi bezel set ruby rings, GR-5797 and GR-5798. These are done with an east west set 6x4mm oval ruby in a thick band of gold. The semi bezel setting protects the ruby making these perfect for every day wear.We have two past present future ruby and diamond rings that feature extremely fine quality 2 carat Burmese rubies, GR-5210 and GR-5287 (shown on right).

These classic styles are one of a kind. GR-5210 features an oval ruby flanked by trillion cut diamonds and GR-5287 features an emerald cut ruby paired with exotic trapezoid cut diamonds.

Vintage Inspired Heart Shaped Ruby and Diamond Engagement Ring

If you prefer a more ornate or delicate design, like a ring your great grandmother may have owned, we have a few vintage styles like our GR-5521 (shown on left), GR-5309 and GR-5749.

These also feature Burmese rubies with a gorgeous red hue. We are very particular about the color of the rubies that we offer. Many rubies are pinkish or purplish. The rubies that we offer show their primary hue to be red, a color that is truly stunning and inviting. Our GR-5521 showcases a precious heart shaped ruby in an elegant band with bead set diamonds and paisley details. GR-5309 is an ornate three stone look with an oval ruby and oval diamonds set in a delicately detailed teardrop design band. Our GR-5749 is a lovely ruby and princess cut diamond ring with engraving and milgrain edging.
