properties. Today, peridot is one of the world's most popular gemstones, prized for its fresh green color. Peridot is the
birthstone for August
and the suggested gift for the sixteenth wedding anniversary. Peridots are mined in Arizona, Burma, Norway, Pakistan, among
others. Peridot
rates 6 1/2 to 7 on the Mohs scale of hardness.
